The Art of Juggling

Sometimes the stress of life can creep up on me and then BAM...I feel overwhelmed. The two craziest times of the year (for a teacher) are August/September and then April/May (the beginning and end of the school year). It was already a bit stressful prior to having a kid, but now that I have Ella, it is more difficult "juggling" everything. I am still learning how to prioritize what is important and what can wait until tomorrow, or the next day, or next...

To say it bluntly: being a mom is hard. But at the same time it is VERY rewarding!

I am contemplating on taking a day off to get my "to do" list conquered.

On an exciting note, we are getting Ella dedicated on Mother's Day and I am so thrilled about it. Last year on Mother's Day I was pregnant and watched as babies in our church were dedicated. Since that day I have desired to have Ella dedicated on Mother's Day. I can't wait!

I need to put this verse throughout the house!!!

"Your father knows what you need before you ask him. So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today's trouble is enough for today." (Matthew 6:8b, 31-34)

Half a Year Old

As I write this month's updates I cannot believe my beautiful little pumpkin is 6 months old. Now I understand what all other moms have told me: Hang on to every stage because in a blink of an eye it is over. Wow! Is that ever true! I am LOVING how Miss Ella is growing, but sad that it is happening all so fast. Anyway, here are some "happenings" from this past month:

~ You LOVE your toys! You have entered a whole new world.
~ When you are in your swing you love to reach up and tug on the mobile that is turning. We might have to take the mobile down soon so you don't break it!!
~ You LOVE LOVE LOVE watching American Idol with mommy and daddy. You enjoy listening to the contestants sing. Then when the judges come on screen you start smiling and sometimes squeal. We think it's because you think they are talking to you. It is quite entertaining.
~ You have found your feet and play with them often.
~ You make the funniest noises with your mouth...you love spitting and making bubbles.
~ You are finally enjoying time in your exersaucer.
~ You enjoy Dingo and get excited when he gets near you. You like to pet his fur.
~ Sometimes you squeal in delight for no reason at all. It is so cute and funny to watch you get VERY happy at the silliest things.
~ You enjoy staring at the butterfly/flower mobile in your room and the fan chains. They make you laugh when they move. They also distract you when mommy is trying to get you to eat...
~ You like playing peek-a-boo.
~ This month you took your first looooong trip all the way down to Florida to visit Grandpa and Nonni. You did GREAT in the car!
~ You sure are rolling all over the place these days.
~ You started eating solids this month. Here are the foods you have eaten so far (and in this order): carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, pears, prunes, and peaches. You definitely like the veggies more than the fruits. We learned really quickly not to give you too many prunes. After ONE jar of them you had 5 poopy diapers in one day! :)
